5 Apps that I can’t live without

As a millennial or a Gen Z or however you want to classify me, my phone is my toolbox.  I use it every day for entertainment and for more productive things as well.

Here are some of the apps that run my life.

This app really does work for me. You turn on the app and choose a window of time that you would like to wake up. For instance, I have mine set to wake me up between 6:00 and 6:30. Then the app uses the phone’s mic to listen to how you toss and turn to determine what stage of sleep you are in and it wakes you when you are in the lightest stage of sleep.

The reason we find it hard to crawl out of bed some mornings is because a traditional alarm may go off while you are in REM. I was hesitant about this app’s effectiveness but it really works!

  • Reminders

This app isn’t special. It’s just the pre-downloaded one on my iPhone. But let me tell you, I would be useless without it. My favorite thing about it is that I can set reminders based on location. So, if I need to remember to check the mail as soon as I get home it will remind me, rather than just a date and time (although it does that too).

Literally every time I try to use the scanner on my printer it malfunctions. Thankfully, you don’t need a physical scanner anymore! There’s an app for that. I actually have a couple of scanner apps on my phone but Genius Scan is usually the one I go to. It is super easy to use. I recommend you try a few different ones though, there are plenty of options!

If you have a dog that has to stay at home all day with no access to a yard, this app will be your best friend. I prefer Wag to some other dog walking services, like Rover, because it seems as though they screen their walkers a little more.

My experience with Wag has been nothing but positive and their customer service team is pretty good too. You can schedule walks, pick preferred walkers, get a free lockbox, and track the walk live.

  • Period Tracker

I don’t have one recommendation for this one because it seems that I am always trying a different one out. I can’t find one that I really like. I understand some of the apps adding in ovulation trackers and mood trackers but…I, personally, just want something extremely simple. I have yet to find it.

My two favorite of the 10 or so that I have tried have been: Period Diary and Kindara. If you have any recommendations, drop them below

Sort of a short post this week. Hopefully, I will have some fun posts coming up! I have some trips planned in the future and I am excited to share. Have a great weekend! 🙂
