I know this is a strange idea for a blog post. If I am being honest, it’s because I didn’t have anything else prepared.
I decided to compile a list of things on my ‘long term wish list.’ This is an actual thing I have and keep track of. Some (most) of it is comprised of material things and some of the items are goals. Anyways, this started as a way to keep track of things that I want but also make me really think about them before spending money on them.
This one fades on and off my list. I honestly don’t really like wearing things on my wrist but something tells me I might change my mind if it were an Apple Watch. Hmmm… we’ll see.
Anything from Briogeo hair care
This stuff isn’t cheap but it’s not like Gucci prices either. I currently have my eye on the ‘Don’t Despair, Repair’ hair mask and the ‘Scalp Revival’ Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Shampoo. My hair has been something I’ve battled with since puberty. I used to have thick, long, fast growing hair and then it seems like 80% fell out at age 13 and then turned brittle. So, now I am left with thin and damaged hair that won’t grow for anything. I’m serious when I say I have tried EVERYTHING…except Briogeo which I have heard good things about. So, who knows, maybe I finally bite the bullet and try it?
Smart Home Tools
Yeah, I’m one of those people. I’ve already got Alexa so in my mind I’m halfway done with my Smart Home dreams. Now, I’m not saying I want a fully automated home like the one in the Disney movie Smart House. However, it would be nice to tell Alexa to turn off the lights when I am being particularly lazy. Some things that I need to make this a reality are Phillip’s Hue light bulbs , a Nest thermostat, and a Ring doorbell. Obviously, this isn’t something I plan on implementing while I am renting. One day though…one day.
*Sigh* If only I could put this in my Amazon cart. One day I will have a backyard complete with a doggy door.
A Jeep Wagoneer (1980’s)
My absolute dream car. Navy blue, wood paneling. Ugh. There are these guys that restore them professionally in Texas and I creep on their website regularly.
To travel everywhere
I mean…there’s not much to explain here. I want to go everywhere.
A YSL Mini-bag
Y’all, I know I’m not buying this one. I fell in love with the YSL Kate Chain and Tassel Bag several years ago when it was super fashionable and popular. This particular bag’s popularity has faded over the years but…it’s still YSL. However, I could never spend that much money on a bag. So, I know this will forever live on the wishlist unless a miracle happens and it is gifted to me.
A cute pair of overalls in my size
When I was younger, I lived in overalls. It was my uniform. They are so comfortable. All I want in my adult life is to relive the glory days in a modern pair of overalls. This is a surprisingly difficult quest. This item is only on the list because I haven’t found them yet. Rest assured as soon as I find them I am snatching them up.
I really, really want these but just refuse to splurge when my Walmart leggings fulfill my current needs. This is something I definitely see myself purchasing…just not right now.
A complete matching luggage set
A nice one. I am a culprit of just picking the cheapest suitcase at Walmart and then being shocked when it falls apart a couple of years later. I so want to be that fancy bitch with a 5 piece matching luggage set at baggage claim.
To fly in first-class whenever I want
This is more of a goal, I guess. I just want to be at a place in life where I see the upgrade fee to fly in first-class and think nothing of it when I click it. No, I don’t think flying in first-class every flight is reasonable…but do I think my life would be made drastically less stressful if I wasn’t crushed in between an 8 year old picking his nose and man named Clyde who keeps trying to get me to join his pyramid scheme? Yes.
A million dogs and half a million goats
Okay, so maybe that’s an exaggeration and again this would require a very specific lifestyle change. But that’s the dream. A farm filled with dogs and goats.
A lifestyle/job where I don’t have to own a car
This one may be difficult to accomplish. I pretty much know that if I stick with my current company there’s only like a 5% chance of me scoring a corporate position where I won’t need a car. I actually kind of hate driving with a passion. I would much rather walk everywhere.
I honestly don’t mind cleaning. However, since starting a full-time job that is pretty physically and mentally tolling cleaning has slipped in priority but I still want a clean apartment. See my dilemma?
Beauty and the Beast wasn’t actually my favorite Disney Princess movie. I would say it was probably Mulan but I opted more for Peter Pan. However, that library was the stuff dreams are made of.
Ugh, the animal mom in me is dying for another baby. However, I know I can’t handle another dog right now. Zuzu needs a friend, I need a less hyper cuddle buddy…kitty here I come!
Again, this is a goal. I want to find what I am passionate about that correlates with my work. I really don’t feel like I know what this is yet. I don’t even know how to go about discovering what this passion is. I’ll keep you posted.
Well, those are the highlights of my list. There are constantly things being added and removed so it is ever changing. What would be on your list?
